One of My Favorite Layouts

I would like to share one of my favorite layouts with you. (If you click on each picture it will open up larger so you can see the detail) It has a lot of glitter, a peacock feather, and my favorite people. The pictures were taken at a free concert in Central Park the summer of 2010. My fiance and I are in the bottom picture and my fiance's best friend and his wife are in the top picture.
In this corner I used a technique using a glue pen and glitter. I traced the lines and swirls in the paper with glue pen and then poured the corresponding colored glitter on the paper. I let it sit for a few seconds and then tapped it off onto wax paper that I placed underneath my paper. It was a very slow process because you can only trace a small part of the design at a time. The glue dries very quickly and it becomes difficult to get the glitter to stick if you do too large of an area. If you look closely at this corner you can see the paper is raised slightly. What I did to achieve this is to use two of the same background paper. I cut a piece of one paper and used three dimensional glue dots to raise the piece up.
In this corner I used the same techniques as I did in the lower corner but this time I placed a peacock feather on the page before I put the cut piece on. This way I was able to hide the bottom of the feather and give it a clean look. I also added a nylon butterfly on top of the picture of myself and my fiance.
In this corner I used the glue glitter technique again...and I must confess I popped this piece up and over the picture of myself because while I liked the picture I wasn't too happy with the way my arm looked.
This is the last corner and I added another butterfly here in the same color as my friend's shirt to tie the layout together. I really like the way this layout came together and I think it was worth the time and effort the glitter/glue technique took.

I hope everyone enjoyed looking at my layout. I'll be posting more layouts and projects in the coming weeks. Leave a comment and tell me what you think!
